Brief Overview

UA@Work is the leading source of interesting and relevant news for and about employees of the University of Arizona. In this centralized hub, users can read news, browse media, and add upcoming events to their calendar and RSS feed. Knowing that many users of the system may also need quick access to these resources, we designed the site to be responsive to mobile devices. Providing university stakeholders quick reference while in meetings and at university events while using their smartphones and tablets.

Key Modules, Theme, and Distribution Used
· Responsive Design · Media Galleries · Newsletter System · Rules Management · Customized Administration Management Workflows
Why these Modules, Theme, and Distribution were Chosen

Through responsive design the site content breaks down and reorients dynamically, dependent on browser size. Galleries were added to be a visual archive of events that go on at the University of Arizona. Not only do the galleries have photos but it also displays videos that are grouped and categorized for quick filtering. A ticker on the top of the homepage uses a feed from an external UofA system to keep users up-to-date on awarded grants. The website utilizes a newsletter sign up option as a conversion to grow their audience database. The new site makes content administration easy and offers each trained user unique permissions based on their needs.

Why Drupal Was Chosen
The Drupal platform has been the catalyst in the successfully bridging the gap from developer to client content management. It allows for custom coding and more streamline integration with 3rd party software. Since Drupal follows basic site structure, 20% of the work is already done, allowing KWALL to focus valuable time developing and engineering custom themes and modules tailored to each client’s scope of work.
Describe the Project (Goals, Requirements, and Outcome)

The business objective was to provide a single-stop-site for news, announcements, and other community focused information that is both current and historic to the University of Arizona. The site provides the user with an intuitive site for submitting, viewing and searching for information. The Drupal 7 system had to be integrated with the university’s UA NetID user management system.
