Brief Overview

Union is a private, liberal arts college located amidst the beautiful Appalachians in Barbourville, Kentucky. Through imagery and personal testimonials, the design spotlights its life-changing impact on students.

Streamlining data storage was very important to Union. They didn't want to recreate information that existed elsewhere, so we built a daily import to transfer course and faculty information from their internal software (Jenzabar) to their public-facing website.

The site is responsive—adjusting its layout for devices such as smartphones and tablets.

It also includes a robust calendar system, a virtual tour, and a wide variety of media and page layout tools to accommodate Union's many undergraduate and graduate needs.

Why Drupal Was Chosen
Union needed a flexible platform that was easy to manage and easy to edit. They also wanted the freedom and low total cost of ownership that comes with using an Open Source project. The final piece of the decision was finding a good partner in Gorton Studios who was to design and build the site with Drupal.
