Key Modules, Theme, and Distribution Used
Drupal 7 standard distribution, Custom Theme, Organic Groups
Why these Modules, Theme, and Distribution were Chosen

We use the Drupal 7 standard distribution as the base of all our site development because our clients tend to have very specific requirements and edge cases that prepackaged distributions do not usually allow for. The theme was custom built based on specific brand and usability requirements and design feedback.

Organic groups was used to provide structure for the member area. The Writers Union provides a number of valuable benefits to their membership that needed to have access restricted to paid members only within the site while also revealing certain content such as member profiles to the general public.

OG allows admin to manage group membership and add new features and content specifically for the groups on an as needed basis.

There are also specific interest group types that either union members or non-union members can join. One example is the National Council group where content is limited to that group's members and excluded from both basic site members and general visitors. Another example is the Copyright Infringement Forum where non-union members can join the discussion with union members.

Describe the Project (Goals, Requirements, and Outcome)

Agentic proudly worked with The Writers' Union of Canada during this critical period when arts are being put under pressure in Canada.
With almost 2,000 members across the country, the Writers Union of Canada has been providing valuable programs, resources and services to published writers in Canada since 1973. Acting as a public advocate on behalf of members the Union promotes the rights, freedoms and economic well-being of all writers.
The Writers' Union came to Agentic with a content-rich website full of advocacy and informational resources that are critical to their mission. But they faced a problem: their site housed so much critical material that was difficult to locate.
Agentic transformed the complex existing site structure into a clear and intuitive site design that clearly fulfills the needs of its community members. The elegant design is based on a solid content architecture with an intuitive secondary navigation. Whether you're a published book author, an aspiring writer or interested in learning more about Canada's top authors, there's something valuable you can find on
Union members immediately took advantage of the new benefits available to them in the redesigned site, publishing over 70 public announcements promoting their work since launch.
